About Me
Home | Resumé | About Me | Art | Java Greetings. My name is Zachary Carter, the 22-year old California-born gaming, biking, coding graphic artist with a knack for both art and science. I am a senior computer science major at the University of California in Santa Barbara, where I work as a student assistant computer support technician for the biological sciences department. I adhere to a full and difficult, yet enjoyable course of study covering a broad range of subjects: from physics, calculus, probability and statistics to creative writing, literature and traditional art. I live in Isla Vista, one of the most densely populated areas per square mile in the United States. I room with 3 other computer science majors: Sean, Nick, and Brett. For the past 3 years I have sought an interdisciplinary education in computer science and art, hoping to develope a skillset for creating full motion character animation, working on animated shorts, and eventually working on full length animated films and video games. I am particularly interested in rendering. This is my passion, which undoubtedly stemmes from my early childhood fascination with light, and perhaps also from a long standing frustration with traditional rendering techniques, with which I have not yet come to gripps. For these reasons I have declared an emphasis on computer graphics within my major. I am a technology enthusiast, but I am not your stereotypical geek. I sleep early and rise earlier. I do not drink caffeine, and I do not like loud music. I am a vegan and I like to run and bike long distances. I love silence, and I love the outdoors. I believe that computers have done more harm for society than good, but it is for this reason, their potential for good, that I have chosen them as the primary instrument of my career. ... Much time has passed and I have not updated my site. For more recent details find me on facebook or my blog. Contact: zacarter@gmail.com |
